Neutrionics
Challenges

The great CHALLENGE of IKUR-Neutrionics is:

  • to enhance the scientific leadership of the Basque Country in neutron science
  • to develop and lead neutrino research lines with high potential for scientific discovery and technology transfer applications in the biomedical field

Short term

  • Consolidate the lines arising from new Ikerbasque incorporations
  • Promote the development of new collaborations at local and international level
  • New infrastructures and equipment, promoting transversality with otherexisting fields and laboratories

Short term

  • To open up to the Basque technological and business fabric, especially the“science industry
  • Attracting, retaining and creating talent in experimental and computational“neutrionics”.
  • Development of new high-level research lines
  • Involve the Basque Country in large international collaborations with a highpotential scientific impact
  • Evaluate the needs and interest of investing in local neutron sources in BasqueCountry

Long term

  • Exploring the development of regional compact neutron sources in collaboration with the Basquetechnological and business fabric
  • Maximize the return on investment in large facilities such as ESS-Lund
Research Lines
